It gives us great excitement to welcome Christian to zystem (creator of zymtrace).
Christian is a software engineer based in Germany. He brings a unique blend of front-end engineering and UI/UX skills to the team. He will be working primarily on zymtrace.
Christian studied Computer Science and Media Applications at university, and before joining zystem, he worked as a front-end developer at a German chat platform.
My journey began about 15 years ago in an online forum where I offered graphic design services. What started as creating visual designs in Photoshop slowly evolved into web design projects, which I took on alongside my school work. As the design industry evolved, so did my tools - transitioning from Photoshop to Sketch, and eventually to Figma.
While design remained my passion, I found myself increasingly drawn to the implementation side of my projects. I wanted to bring my designs to life myself, which naturally led me to teach myself web development. This combination of design and development has shaped my entire career path.
During university, I expanded my portfolio by creating websites and blogs for individuals and small businesses. During this time, I was also introduced to Thomas, one of the co-founders of Optimyze, where I got my first exposure to the world of profiling while contributing graphic design work.
What draws me to zystem is their mission to make GPU- and CPU-bound applications faster and more cost-effective. I am excited by the challenge of contributing to this vision and being part of the team bringing it to life. As an early joiner, I have the chance to learn extensively while delivering impactful work at a much faster pace.
The opportunity to blend my design expertise with technical development perfectly aligns with my skillset and career passions.
Taking walks with my dog helps me clear my mind and approach problems from fresh angles. These moments away from the screen often lead to unexpected solutions and creative breakthroughs.
Gaming is another source of inspiration for my work. While playing, I often find myself analyzing user interfaces and interactions that could be improved. This critical thinking about user experience in games naturally carries over into my professional work, helping me spot opportunities for better design solutions in the software I build.
